The "S" stands for scale inhibitor. You can use the CFS 8112, although I would recommend using the 8112-S.

We actually carry both of these Cuno water filters. The difference between the two is that the model with the "s" has a scale inhibitor. The filter with scale inhibitor is commonly used in locations with hard water and on steam equipment and ice machines. If you'd like to order the CFS8112-S I've listed it below.
