It is very easy to change the closure, all you need is a flat head screwdriver, the closure pulls out from the bottom, once away from the concealed bracket under the closure push it up to remove it, installition of the new one is the oppisite, put the metal tabs on the top of the closure in the slots and the push in place.

Question

I have this closer (1094) but it seems that the spring or hydraulic cylinder has worn out as it will not pull door shut the last half inch.

I need to replace or repair. Cant figure out how to get cover off though. Would like to replace with same model rather then drill new holes and such. Can I do this? Are there parts for sale or do I need to replace with a new one?

Most covers on this type of closer snap off with a screwdriver. Check bottom of closer for slot. Screw patterns are pretty much the same on all brands. Good luck.

Remove old door closer, see if you can find a number on the back, or measure hole centers. Once you have this information call our sales team at 1.888.388.6372. They can source the door closer you need.

Dimensions of this Kason Door Closer are as follows:

Length (of attaching section): 7 inches
Screw hole centers: 2 inches
The top 2 screw holes are 1/2 inch from the top of the attaching section.

Please let us know if you need any additional dimensions. This door closer is meant to replace the closer with 1094 on the back.
