The Turbo Air 30227Q1200 Freeze/Defrost Sensor tells the freezer/refrigerator when to turn the compressor on and off depending on temperature. Additionally, when you run the defrost the sensor senses when the temperature (not sure about specifics) reaches a certain point and turns the defrost function off.
