Does the bowl lifting mechanism need lubrication?

The only routine maintenance that is recommended I have listed below:

Planetary Ring - Once a year, reapply grease (e.g. black axle grease). Inject grease (2 pumps only) into zerk fitting on the side of planetary. DO NOT overfill!

Bowl Slide Rods - If the bowl becomes difficult to raise and lower, apply Globe oil (mineral oil) on the bowl slide rods. Raise and lower the bowl to distribute the oil onto the rods.

I am not sure if lubricating the bowl lifting mechanism will hurt the mixer but it is not recommended.

How much weight can this mixer mix at one time?

Will this mixer mix a 25 lb bag of flour and 15 lbs of water to make pizza dough at one time?

The below 30 qt mixer is specifically designed to mix pizza dough. I recommend using the Globe SP30P for all of your pizza dough prep needs.

What kind of grease for the planetary ring?

I just need to know where I can purchase and what kind of grease to use at the zerk fitting on the planetary ring. Please don't quote the manual (e.g. black axle grease). I need specifics. Thank you.

Thanks for your question Nathan.

After speaking with one of our technician's I was told that no particular brand is better over another when it comes to gear grease. That said, our tech. recommends going down to your local auto parts store and purchasing a grease gun. This is where most technicians get basic gear lube for planetary gears. They should have what you need.
