Stainless very easy to clean with any thing must wash after use

There is not a bacteria coating on this salad knife but, as with any other knife, if you make sure to wash it after every use you will not need to worry about bacteria. I recommend running it through the dishwasher often to ensure yourself that you are indeed killing any bacteria that happens to form on the knife.
