Question

Questions and concerns about equipment temperature

I have a FFM80 model of the Anets Goldenfry. I notice the surface has a hot surface temperature warning label on it. What temperature does the grease need to be prior to pouring it into the FFM80? Does it matter? Is it possible the equipment will overheat if the grease is put in minutes after use?

Thanks for bringing your question to Tundra Restaurant Supply.

In regards to the Anets FFM80 Low Profile Mobile Fryer Oil Filter, here are a few guidelines for use:

- The oil filter MUST have oil in it before you start it up. Dry firing the unit will cause the pot to crack.
- There is no temperature limit for hot oil used in the oil filter - adding hot oil will not overheat/damage the unit.
- If you've got oil already in the unit and you add fresh, hot oil to it you'll want all oil (new and old) to reach a certain temperature the next time you use it otherwise you'll get an oily taste in your foods. The sweet spot for temperature is approximately 350°F.
