Thanks for your question Sammi, and we apologize for the delayed response.

Regarding removing grease from this Dormont WD-50-A Grease Interceptor, our technician says you can either remove the grease yourself or have someone else do it for you. The lid should be removable, and this lets you dispose of the grease yourself. That said, there are actually companies that specialize in doing just that, so if you'd rather not remove the grease yourself you can hire a company that will come in and do it for you.

Question

Removing grease

I know I can take the lid and remove it myself or hire a company. However, this model shows a hose coming out of the middle of cover and says that the grease can be removed without taking off the cover. How? Suck it out or push it out with water or what?

Thanks for the follow-up Sammi.

According the the manufacturer, the tap valve included with the interceptor is used to close off the outlet end of the interceptor. This can be removed. Once removed, the draw off hose you're referring to is meant to be placed in a bucket which can then collect the grease.

If you'd like to talk specifics and get some more detailed instructions please give a member of our Tundra Restaurant Supply team a call at 1-888-388-6372. We'd be more than happy to explain how this works.
