My local restaurant uses them for hot (warm not boiling) drinks and I can't see why you can't put glass in the microwave. They aren't lead crystal!!! Ditto the dishwasher. Glass jars will crack if you pour boiling water into a cold glass - but you can put hot liquids in a glass jar if you warm it first... Like putting jam into jars. It's the sudden change that is the problem.

I use these glasses as daily drinking glasses at home and am giving them out as favors at my wedding. The manufacturer doesn't recommend use with hot liquids because extreme temperature changes may cause the glass to crack, but I have used them with with hot liquids with no problems. They are microwave and dishwasher safe.

I've run these through the dishwasher with no problem. I don't know about hot liquids or the microwave.

answer 4
Unfortunately, this drinking mug is not designed for hot liquids. I do not recommend using it in the microwave and a low temp dishwasher will work best for washing. The use of hot liquids may result in the mug cracking or chipping.

Thanks for your question.

Libbey, the manufacturer of this 97084 16 1/2 oz Plain Drinking Jar, does not currently make a 32 oz drinking jar. That said, we don't want to close the door on getting you the jars you need just yet. Please give a member of our Tundra Restaurant Supply team a call at 1-888-388-6372, and we'd be more than happy to speak with you about your needs and how we can help meet them.

Thanks for bringing your question to Tundra Restaurant Supply.

No, Libbey does not make a lid for this 97084 16 1/2 oz Plain Drinking Jar. The jar style is more for aesthetic purposes than closure and storage purposes.
