The term "labor saver column" refers to the "spider" or connecting piece at the top of the base. This spider section used to be separate, needing to be screwed in with a pole going up through the actual base pole. This connecting piece is now welded to the pole and does not require additional assembly.
The table top, pole and spider section, and base feet are all separate pieces and can easily be stored.
